We’re involved in a number of events that fulfill our mission to make Georgetown a nicer place.
April 5, 2025 – After over 3 years in the founder’s garage, Georgetown Free Bikes celebrates a new location with a Grand Re-Opening / Open House from Noon to 5 pm on Saturday, April 5. We’re located at 2055 FM1460
Here are some photos from the Grand Re-Opening / Open House. Although the weather was on everyone’s mind, it turned out to be a success. There were over a hundred guests that attended. They enjoyed touring the premises, enjoyed the face painting of Mermaid Gramma for the kids and some adults – you’ll see! There was live music from Brian Mullin, a talented local musician. Who could forget the popcorn, hot dogs and cotton candy. When was the last time you had cotton candy? Thanks to all those donors, volunteers and supporters for the important mission of Georgetown Free Bikes.

December 14, 2024 – At Georgetown High School, City Church, working with Bikes For Goodness Sake , sponsored a Bike Assembly event. About 75 volunteers joined in to assemble 50 brand new BMX Bikes and give them to third and fourth grade Cooper Elementary School students. Georgetown Free Bikes provided bike mechanics that assisted the volunteer assembly teams with any questions or trouble shooting. At the end of assembly our bike mechanics checked the work and made any final adjustments. Bikes were then fitted to the joyous recipients. Ready to join us? Check out our volunteer page. You can also see us in action on Tuesdays at our new workshop location – 2055 FM1460 in Georgetown.
